Amazing Chocolate Bar

When I told Jim the name of my blog, he said, ARE YOU SERIOUS? I can't imagine you calling yourself orderly or a housewife." I told him the name made me laugh and it was better than calling my blog "Martha Stewart's Alter Ego."
I want to profess my love...for the most amazing chocolate bar I have ever eaten. My friends at Cooks of Crocus Hill told me about it and I bought one for me and my family to taste. Max and I started eating it and SERIOUSLY contemplated not telling Jim about it (so we could eat the whole thing). I went back to Cooks to get more, and apparently they sell out as fast as they get them. It's from a groovy woman owned company called "Vosges" http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/. My favorite is the Barcelona Exotic Candy Bar, "Hickory smoked almonds + fleur de sel gray sea salt + deep milk chocolate." They are a little pricey ($7), but a great treat to yourself or friends...Especially in this gloomy weather here!

October is BC Month

Since October is breast cancer month (don't ask me why) there's lots of fund raising events. I'm involved in 2 of them; one is "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" for the American Cancer Society. The walk is on Oct 13th and it's in S. Minneapolis. The link is makingstrides.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=3495&pg=entry
There's no registration fee and no minimum amount of money to raise. I registered my team "kickin cancer's butt"and hope you will join me. Even if everyone raises $20 (or donates it themselves which is what I'm going to do because I just fundraised for Race for the Cure). I think WCCO tv wants to highlight us before the race.
The other event is "Desserts for a Cure", a dessert class at Cooks of Crocus Hill. It's on October 2nd at the Grand Ave. store. It's $75 for the class and all the money (after food costs) goes to the Komen foundation. My friend and fellow bc survivor is the main teacher and she's an AMAZING pastry chef...I'm her "helper". Frist Edition - 2nd attempt

Lucie at a farm in Door County - actually at this really cool art place we found (yep, they had animals outside). The kids made several ceramic "creations" at this art shop and we had to visit it twice on our vacation (www.handsonartstudio.com). It was an uber version of our old store and yes, I even missed the old place a little....
Besides the art place, we had lots of beach time and tried many new recipes with all the tasty local produce. I had the best egg salad sandwich (in my life) and I'll post the recipe when I figure out how to do it.
